Having breast cancer has truly been a transformative experience.
It is my goal to promote research and awareness, and to encourage other women to be proactive with their health.
I was diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer in late 2011. Today I am cancer free, thanks to the incredible doctors with whom I worked, specifically Dr. Ellen Mahoney, who made my experience a positive one. There is no way I could ever repay her kind heart and prodigious skill, yet I still want to share my gratitude in an impactful way to benefit breast cancer awareness and prevention.
It was through Dr. Mahoney that I found the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation (DSLRF). A college friend of Dr. Mahoney’s, Dr. Love created this foundation which is committed to eradicating breast cancer and working to improve the quality of women’s health. DSLRF is leading the way to a safer and more aware world, giving women resources for cancer prevention and taking action against cancer. They invest in innovative research, education, and advocacy, and we can help them do that!
Holly Yashi has proudly partnered with the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation (DSLRF). For every Special Edition pink ribbon piece of jewelry sold, $5.00 is donated to increase funding for breast cancer prevention awareness. It comes in a special gift packaging, and is a way to pitch in with your contribution to increase awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Our lives have been touched by breast cancer; this is one way in which we’re giving back to win the fight against it.
Having breast cancer has truly been a transformative experience for my faith and my body. I’ve been so blessed to have had skillful doctors, my family, my friends, and a positive, supportive environment. I hope to be able to encourage other women to be proactive with their health, and by giving to the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation, help to provide resources and research for breast cancer prevention.
