Holly Yashi Celebrates 30th Anniversary with New Store

November 2010

Arcata, Calif. – November 1, 2010. Holly Yashi is approaching its 30th year in business and, in celebration, is opening a new store in its northern California studio, located at 1300 Ninth Street in Arcata. The new store will showcase Holly Yashi’s award-winning jewelry in combination with an array of fun and unexpected fine gift items made locally and from across the globe. The grand opening festivities are set to begin on Friday, November 12 from 6PM to 9PM and will continue throughout the weekend, with hours on Saturday, November 13 from 10AM to 6PM and Sunday, November 14 from 12PM to 5PM. At these times, the store will be open to the public for shopping and perusing. Ample parking is available. Holly Yashi’s new store gala will feature thousands of dollars in giveaways and prizes, complimentary light refreshments, and an overall sense of merriment and wonder with the holidays fast approaching.

In 1981, two young and eager gifted entrepreneurs began a jewelry business in a garage. Now, co-founders Holly Hosterman and Paul Lubitz are finally making their dream of a true Holly Yashi store a reality. They are eager to share this opportunity with the public! Previously, the full collection has only been available online at hollyyashi.com. With Holly’s flair for creativity and design and Paul’s ingenuity and technical prowess, the store is sure to be a sight for all to see. This is a store unlike anything else in northern California.

As Holly Yashi’s Creative Director, Holly has fashioned a sophisticated boutique ambiance for a friendly and comfortable shopping experience. Splashes of vibrant color will keep customers dazzled. With hints of wonderful fragrance in the air from the abundance of scented candles and imported soaps to the homey collection of colorful aprons and quaint children’s gifts, the urge to stay a few minutes longer will be irresistible.

To make a rare shopping experience even more exciting, customers will be able to view Holly Yashi jewelry being made on weekdays! It’s the perfect place to bring out-of-town guests on a field trip! Personal shopping consultants will be at hand to help guests make their selections. Convenient gift packaging will also be available. With so much to offer, it might be difficult for new customers to make just a “quick trip” to the new Holly Yashi venue.

Holly Yashi’s new store has been built into its current jewelry design studio. While the studio currently spans 15,000 square feet, Holly Yashi continues to honor and preserve the art of jewelry-making by crafting each item by hand in small batches. Holly Yashi has been featured in magazines such as Vogue and Good Housekeeping as well as on a number of television series. Holly Yashi jewelry can be found on celebrities such as musician Bonnie Raitt and actress Sandra Oh of Sideways. Earlier this year, Holly Yashi received first place in the Women’s Jewelry Association Diva Design competition. Last month, Holly’s Francesca Necklace placed as a Finalist in the ongoing Niche Awards competition.

At Holly Yashi’s new store, one will find everything from affordable, whimsical stocking stuffers to special occasion gifts including gourmet chocolates from the Northwest. For the perfect holiday connection, a section of the store will be devoted to jewelry and gifts of faith. Holly Yashi encourages visitors to join in celebrating the newest addition to the Arcata artistic community. For those unable to visit the new store, Holly Yashi will continue to offer its jewelry online at hollyyashi.com and through its collection of over 1,100 retailers.
